What the company doesThe full company profile.
Prosus N.V. is a global consumer internet and technology investment group headquartered in the Netherlands, with major holdings across e-commerce, food delivery, fintech, online classifieds, education technology, and digital marketplaces. The company was created by South African investment group Naspers to hold and manage its international internet assets, with its largest and most valuable investment remaining its stake in Tencent. Beyond Tencent, Prosus owns or backs businesses such as iFood, OLX, PayU, and a wide portfolio of technology companies across emerging and developed markets.
Prosus’s strength comes from its exposure to high-growth digital businesses, its substantial investment portfolio, and its ability to deploy capital across sectors benefiting from long-term structural growth in internet usage and digital commerce. The company sits at the centre of themes including e-commerce penetration, digital payments, online food delivery, fintech adoption, artificial intelligence, and the expansion of consumer internet platforms across emerging markets. A major part of the investment case also centres on Prosus’s persistent holding-company discount, with management using asset sales and share buybacks to narrow the gap between the market value of Prosus and the underlying value of its investments. While the group remains exposed to technology valuations, regulatory risk in China, and execution across its portfolio, Prosus offers investors diversified exposure to some of the world’s most important digital platforms through a single listed vehicle.

MethodologyHow ET&A values a company and reaches a view.
How we value Prosus N.V.
- 1. The right method for the business. Each business is valued on the method that suits its economics — earnings for most companies, book value and returns for banks and insurers, cash flows or dividends where earnings mislead.
- 2. What the business deserves. ET&A builds a fair multiple from the company's own quality, sustainable growth, earnings predictability and risk. History, peers and the market are checked against it, but they don't set it.
- 3. Fair Value. The earnings (or other basis) per share multiplied by that fair multiple, cross-checked against independent methods.
- 4. Preferred Entry. A price below Fair Value that leaves room for the return ET&A requires for the company's risk.
- 5. Is it expensive? Today’s price is placed on ET&A’s Valuation Attractiveness scale — the same measure the ET&A Score uses. Cheap is the Preferred Entry; above Fair Value the shares are Expensive, and Very Expensive once they are more than 25% above it.
